Good Result, Poor Performance

Hi everyone, today i will show you another 3 matches that took place in August. After 3 impressive games, we try to continue our performance in next game. However, my squad do not show their true strength. Although we get 2 wins and 1 draw, our performance are awful.

4th Match : vs Doncaster at home

We start the game poorly, given Doncaster to dominate the game. Our passing never meet the receiver, our defender make several mistake. Billy Sharp took advantage of this by scoring a placing shot after been released free by Copinnger. Mistake by Wheater after let the ball past him. It's lucky for us Doncaster do not take their chance to double their lead. At half time, i make team-talk that i angry with their performance. After that, my team look to find their way back and play quite good. In 65th minutes, Amr Zaki show what its worth as he smash in from 30 yards after receiving pass from Addison. Then, Miles Addison, Man Of the MAtch, be the hero after scoring a thundering shot in penalty box. Yeah! Superb comeback from my team. I'm glad to see my new signing put their best performance. But, sadly my 3 AMC, M. Yeates, G.O'Neil and A.Johnson fail to deliver. Their rating all below 6.6. I say in team-talk that i disappoint with their performance. After the game, Mark Yeates and Adam Johnson react negatively by going to media and say i the one to be blame after my word in dressing room.

5th Match : vs Swindon at The Country Ground for League Cup 2nd Round

I make a big changes, let my first 11 to rest. But, i let Adam Johnson and Mark Yeates to play as punishment to them for going to media to blame me. We dominated the game, creates several goal scoring chances, but we fail to convert them into goal. Until L.Lita been tackle by S.Cuthbert in penalty box and the ref give my team a penalty. Adam Johnson step forward, make a poor shot and been saved by D.Lucas. Luckily the ball bounces back to him and he make second attempt without any mistake. 1-0. Then, Adam Johnson again score after nice through ball by James Walker to kill the game. We win 2-0. Marvelous performance by Adam Johnson.

After that marvelous performance by Adam Johnson, he apologize to me and say he was wrong to consider himself unfairly treated by me. I accept his apologize.

6th Match : vs Bristol City away at Asthon Gate

Poor performance by my team. Bristol City far better from my team in all aspect. They dominate the game and look dangerous in their attacking. Maybe it's my fault to change tactic from 4-2-3-1 to 4-4-2. I thought that Bristol who playing with only 2 men in front can be pressure with more attacking tactic,but i'm wrong. David Clarkson give Bristol the lead after tap-in cross from Lee Johnson. We doing nothing to make this game even until Didier Digard scoring from 35 yards. What a driller. He give us a point, even we do not deserve it.

Great Start in August

Hello readers, i have going through 3 games in August. We are doing really well as i got 3 wins. WOW! Great start as i don't have any injury problem and we are prepared well during the pre-season.

1st Match : vs Shef Utd at Home

Interesting match as we face promotion contender. Shef Utd have several good players especially their striker, Ched Evans. We started well with some nice passing and great movement. We have a goal in 5th minutes. Amr Zaki score from close range after nice passing from Gary O'neil. First debut goal and it looks promising for him. Shed Utd react well from the goal with chances but Campbell and Wheater are hard to beat. But in 27th minutes, a mistake from J.Grounds, to let James Harper to dribble pass him and make a cross. D.Henderson rise high to beat Wheater in the air and heading in the ball. I'll try to play attacking football after that but stubborn Shef Utd backline prevent us from scoring. After half time, i make a subtitution to bring Leroy Lita for Mark Yeates. It worth as gold as Lita score his debut goal from edge of the left box. Nice goal and it is the winning goal. Both clubs create several good chances but nothing turn into a goal. So, we winning our first match.

2nd Match : vs Swansea away at Liberty Stadium

Swansea is not really a tough opponent, but they have 2 dangerous players, Darren Pratley and Ferrie Bodde. I need my two holding midfielder to closing down this players. We start the game with smooth fast passing but can't penetrate Swansea defends until 27th minutes. Mark Yeates play through by J.Walker, cut inside and smash in to score the first goal. Second goal comes from a corner. David Wheater headed in from Yeates corner to double the lead. We take a total control after second goal and no goal added until half time. We start second half with great spirit and Swansea weakness from corner let Sol Campbell to headed in his first ever goal for Middlesbrough. 2 goals from corner. Nice. After that goal, i let Adam Johnson, Gary O'neil and Miles Addison to rest and bring in J.Frans, J.Arca and D.Digard. Those subtitution make an impact to the game as we lost control to the ball. They dominate the game and really look dangerous in attacking. It's show when Leon Britton dribble pass Wheater to score placing shot. Afraid by the comeback of Swansea, i change tactic to contain, drop deeper and hassle opponent. It's pay off as they can't score and C. van der gun add more misery for Swansea with a sent off in 93th minutes. Second win.

3rd Match : vs Scunthorpe away at Glanford Park

A 'must win' match as we face relegation battler. They can't do any damage to my team as in 5th minutes, Gary O'Neil dribbles past 2 players and make a nice placing goal. We double the lead when L.Lita, 1st time to be starter on the field as i rest Amr Zaki, strike the ball to top corner after mistake by Rob Jones. J.Franks, also 1st time started instead of Adam Johnson score his first goal with a tap-in from Yeates' cross. 3rd winning of the season.

We face through 3 game with a vintage performance from the players. Hope they can improve their playing in next games..

Tactic for The Season

Hello everyone, today i want to write about my tactic that i will use through the season. I create this tactic after i make research at a few fm websites and experiment it in pre-season. We playing 4 at at the back, with 2 Central Defenders and 2 Fullbacks. 2 DC will play a role as pure defender, never going forward except for corner and free kicks. My first choice partnership here is David Wheater and Sol Campbell. Contra to fullbacks, they will need to get forward to help in attacking, mainly to cross the ball, but still their true job is at defending. My choice for the fullbacks is at the right, Justin Hoyte and at the left will be Jonathan Grounds. All my first choice defenders are english. Hope they can communicate well with Campbell be the leader.

I play with two holding midfielder, 1 with role as central midfielder with defend mindset and another play as deep-lying playmaker to support attacking phase. Miles Addison and Didier Digard are my choice here. Whats great in this tactic is my 3 attacking midfielder. 2 at each flank have role as inside forward while the one at center play as attacking midfielder. This 3 players will swap position among each others, hope we can create havoc to opposition defence with running an passing between this 3 players. With this tactic, cross will be restricted as the squad do not have a towering striker that can score with head. So, i prefer to play through the middle. My choice for 3 positions here are Adam Johnson, Gary O'Neil and Mark Yeastes. Hope they can play together extremely well and create chances for striker to score, and also make themselves available to score. Last but no least is my alone striker. Play either as poacher, complete forward or target man. First choice is my new signing, Amr Zaki. I can see he will be my goal-machine and hope he don't let me down.

This tactic work very well in pre-season as we score many goals and concede less. So, i'm sure it will work well in the real match.

I gained 15.75M euro from player's selling. 5 players out, 3 in. I only spend 2.2M euro to one player, Amr Zaki. He is really a great striker. Miles Addison was brought to Riverside by player changes, that brought Chris Riggot to Derby. Really nice deal as Riggot is old and not really good defender compare to other defender i have. Sol Campbell, a legend and it's free. Nice..

I sold other 4 players due to wanted by club. Several big clubs like Man City and Valencia want Marvin Emnes. I can't understand why because he not really good. So, i decided to accept most high bidder and finally he choose to go to Tolouse FC. Back to his country.

I'm really happy with my transfers during this transfer period. Hope my new signing can gel well with others.

New Journey

Hello readers, i want to start a new game in Fm2010. I've chosen Middlesbrough, currently playing in Coca-cola Championship. Middlesbrough was relegated last season from Barclays Premier Leageue. So, my first aim as manager, i'm gonna bring Middlesbrough back at top flight. Media prediction for Middlesbrough is 2nd position. Middlesbrough posses top training facilities and excellent youth setup. That's were good because we need all those to develop youngster and give best place for players to train. Middlesbrough play home game at The Riverside Stadium that can fill 35000 attendances.

Board expectation for this season is either promotion or winner. As i can see hard competition from Newcastle, Shef Utd and West Brom, i decided to choose to get promotion, either with auto-promotion (2nd place) or through play-of. Still my ambition is to get to touch my first trophy by winning Coca-cola Championship.

As i look through the squad at my arrival, i can see Middlesbrough really have a number of great players such as David Wheater, Gary O'Neil, Adam Johnson, Didier Digard and Justin Hoyte. So, i think i didn't have to make many changing in the squad. I will sell several players that i think unwanted. New addition to the squad is only needed in MC and DC. Thus, wait for m next post for my transfer update and pre-season.
